OBITUARY: Obituary, Evening Bulleting (Maysville, KY), 29 June 1891, vol. 10, p4:

THOMAS TUREMAN - His Body Recovered, and His Funeral Took Place Here This Morning. The remains of Thomas Tureman, who was accidentally drowned at Cincinnati last Thursday night, was recovered Saturday. In his pockets were found his gold watch, $65 in money and some valuable papers beloning to the Banner Leaf Tobacco Company, in which he was interested. The body was embalmed and was brought here on the F.F.V. last evening for interment. The funeral took place this morning at 10 o'clock at the Church of the Nativity, Rev. D.D. Chapin and Rev. W.J.E. Cox officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the Maysville cemetery. Mrs. Annabelle Pearce, Miss Henrietta Tureman, Miss Amanda Tureman, and Mr. Hal C. Curran, of Cincinnati, were present at the funeral. The Enquirer says: "Tureman was born in Maysville, and until the time of his death he referred to his as his home. His Aunt, Mrs. Amanda Tureman, a lady of seventy-six, has been the same as a mother to him, whose own parents, a mother and a step-father, reside in New Orleans. Tureman also leaves a wife and two children, aged respectively eleven and fourteen, in New Orleans."Ten years ago an unhappy difference separated Tureman and his wife forever. There was never any divorce between them, and Tureman never referred to the cause of the separation except to very intimate friends. He was a good business man, and had many warm friends among them. He was forty-eight years old. He carried a $5,000 policy in Travelers' Accident Insurance Company, and this, it is supposed, will go to his children."
